RASMUS KOFOED ENTERS WACHAU GOURMET FESTIVAL

THE CHAMPION

———————————————–

Between March 27th and April 10th 2014, the hosting partners in Wachau, a highly distinguished assemblage, awaits you. With exclusive multi-course dinners, cookery shows, table talks with celebrities and exquisite wine tastings, the restaurateurs and winemakers will once again show that Wachau is one of the top culinary regions on an international scale.

The program of the Wachau Gourmet Festival is enhanced by appearances from internationally renowned top chefs of various Relais & Chateaux and Michelin destinations who will all create top dinners in the wine region.

2* Michelin, acknowledged on the World’s 50 Best, Winner of the Nordic Prize 2013 and Bocuse d’Or Legend, Rasmus Kofoed is one of those to be found by food pilgrims at Relais & Châteaux Schloss Dürnstein, Wednesday, April 9th. Here he will be creating a Nordic menu accompanied by sensational wines from and with Franz-Josef Gritsch & Reinhard Heymann-Löwenstein

First Rasmus Kofoed won bronze. Then silver. And finally, in 2011, he received the golden statue, proving that he was not only the winner of Bocuse d’Or but also “the world’s best chef”. High rising. Second to none.

Growing up in a forest, his mother started his culinary education young; introducing him to fishing and a variety of flavours through her own cooking. As a child of nature, he should feel right at home amongst the thriving Austrian wine landscape, cooking what the countryside of Wachau has to offer.

For those who haven’t been lucky enough to dine at 2013’s Nordic Best Restaurant of The Year, Restaurant Geranium, Wachau Gourmet Festival is the chance to experience culinary aristocracy up close and personal.

Wachau Festival is no stranger to internationally acclaimed supremacy as it frequently makes its acquaintance in the form of international restaurateurs and winemakers, eager to make the most of the place where some of the finest white wines in the world are made.

If this isn’t enough; the festival not only has the allure of fine wines, it also has the fantastic scenery which produced them. The charming Austrian valley has been formed over time by the Danube river which runs through the grassy hills and meticulously preserved pre-historic architecture, making it a World Heritage Site.

Since 2011 Bon Vivant Communications has provided the area with highly esteemed Nordic Star Chefs: In 2011, 2012 and 2013 New York City based NOMA co-founder Mads Refslund, in 2012 we brought gastronomy wizard Ronny Emborg (then of Restaurant AOC in Copenhagen), in 2013, the king of smørrebrød Adam Aamann, and now, to top it all off, this year we present Bocuse d’Or Legend Rasmus Kofoed.
