James Beard Award-winning Chef Christopher Kostow and Restaurant Director Nathaniel Dorn invite 12 of the brightest chefs and vintners from across the US and abroad to their luxury resort in Napa Valley this winter.

The Restaurant at Meadowood and Chef Christopher Kostow – 2013 James Beard Award Winner for Best Chef: West – celebrate The Twelve Days of Christmas® at Meadowood Napa Valley with Nordic Star Chef Rasmus Kofoed of fast rising comet Restaurant Geranium in Copenhagen and George Peterson of international acclaimed Spring Mountain Vineyard on Wednesday, December 18.

From December 6-21, The Restaurant will host the sixth annual dining series benefitting Napa Valley charities The Holly Cranston Foundation and the Napa Emergency Women’s Services (NEWS). Since 2008, this collaborative event raised more than $230,000 to battle childhood hunger in partnership with  Share Our Strength, and this year, they are hoping to make a significant impact on local children in need.

“It’s our honor to support children in need around the Napa Valley area as we continue this truly unique Christmas tradition,” says Restaurant Director Nathaniel Dorn.

“This event has always been an opportunity for us to give back; to promote the ethos of our Restaurant and community, and to create an opportunity for prolonged cross pollination and enduring friendships,” says Kostow.

Kostow works closely with the invited guest chefs throughout the year to explore their unique flavors, inspirations, and cultures giving each night of the series a distinctive fingerprint.

One of these guest chefs being Bocuse d’Or Legend Rasmus Kofoed, who first won bronze, – then silver. And finally, in 2011, he received the golden statue, the proof that he was the winner of Bocuse d’Or and thereby the title “the world’s best chef”.

In March 2013, Rasmus Kofoed received his second Michelin star within only two years at Restaurant Geranium in Copenhagen, as well as both years being recognized at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List.

“Besides doing something good to two great causes, I’m looking very much forward to experience The Restaurant at Meadowood, that stands out as an almost extension to the woods it’s situated in”, Kofoed says and continues; “I’ll try and combine this with taking sensations from the immediate terrior, recreate and refine it in a dish and express the actual moment. To me that’s what it is all about.”
