Yesterday in Stockholm the first Nordic Michelin Guide was released with the announcement that Restaurant AOC has received their second of the three possible stars.

Chef Owner Søren Selin (left) states:

“We hoped for two stars but didn’t expect it in anyway. How can anyone? This is fantastic news and huge for me. This recognition makes me very proud of our team.”

Founder of AOC and multiple winner of  both Danish and Nordic Sommelier Championship, Christian Aarø (right) states:

“This is a dream come true. As a restaurateur your desire is to create a personal vision of how a beautiful moment should look and offer this to your guests. Being accoladed with the second star from Michelin is a huge recognition to that vision being right. This makes me very proud.”

Situated in the vaulted 17th century cellar in the heart of Copenhagen, Restaurant AOC continues to strive for greatness, receiving outstanding reviews from diners and critics. Now, with this second Michelin star, AOC is firmly placed in the same league as Noma and Geranium – the other two starred Michelin restaurants of Copenhagen.

Emphasising what is wonderful from their local Nordic surroundings, AOC stimulates as many of your senses as possible, always staying true to the product.

Chef Søren Selin’s gastronomic philosophy is rooted in nature, bringing ingredients alive through modernist technique and a dedication to innovation. Light and elegant flavours are paired with both classic and natural wines chosen by Christian Aarø so that the food and wine accompanies each other in perfect harmony.

“Thankfully this was not simply a feast for the eyes. Delivered, introduced and devoured. Every dish induced a moment of awe and complete satisfaction, as binned juniper bush was cut open and toasted hazelnut rye bread left to melt the goats cheese which was thickly spread upon it.”

THE LUXURY CHANNEL: THE MOST INTERESTING FOOD EVER

“The food is a revelation. It can be added to Copenhagen’s best, along with Hans Christian Andersen, its clean air, safety and all those egalitarian, polite folk on pushbikes.”
