HEAD CHEF WANTED FOR MODERN RESTAURANT IN HELSINKI

A Helsinki client is looking for a skilled, contemporary head chef and future partner for their hip new restaurant, due to open this August.

The vision is all about the restaurant being “simple yet hip” and of course the food is paramount. The interior, the music, the staff: everything must compliment the food as this is at the core of everything. The aim is to serve the highest quality produce prepared in a smart but reduced way.

 They are looking for modern dishes with a focus on Mexican, Peruvian and Asian styles and flavours, which can be shared or served individually. Their clientele will be young creatives, business people and urbaners coming in from the surrounding areas.

Seabass Ceviche

The restaurant has a cover of approximately 100 seats in the dining area, plus another 150 in the bar where it is also possible to eat. The venue is roughly 400m2. The chef needs to be creative and flexible but also someone who can organise themselves and their team. Saying this, they will not work with a huge army of chefs, but with a reasonable team of dedicated cooks.

What they want for the restaurant is that the people have a great time while enjoying their food at a reasonable price. Following this concept, there will be DJ sessions in peak times as well as other activities on weekends. There is also a pop-up shop of 50mwhich will be home to a different brand every 3 months.

The restaurateur wants the chef to be a longterm trusted partner who also believes in the quality of produce which is locally sourced.

They seek to get in touch with a motivated and talented, but internationally trained, man/woman, who wants to enjoy the beautiful Helsinki for years to come. He/she will also participate in the renovation of the kitchen and the restaurant to include his or her ideas.

Opening is planned for the third week of August.

Conditions:

A monthly figure of 1300€ for an apartment plus a salary of 4200€ is offered, bearing in mind that the salary will go up if the rent is lower than the above figure. Finnish tax is 25%.

The future chef will also be compensated for three return plane tickets a year to their country of residence, 2 weeks paid “kitchen vacation” around Christmas time/January to somewhere in Asia/Mexico where the chef can learn more about the business (all expenses paid), and free health care. 

The future chef needs to have a working permit within the EU.
