In a world ruled by trends, things come and go quickly and only the best survive.

Photographer Claes Bech-Poulsen knows this rule only too well and has, over the past 25 years, captured the best chefs, well-known celebrities and the most prominent culinary people in their right elements.

The flamboyant yet subtle photographer is driven by a fascination with those who seek “the ultimate”: passionate people. People who, like him, have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of perfection.

Had he not become a photographer, he might as well have been a painter.

Without boundaries Claes Bech-Poulsen chose his own path, trained purely by doing. This resulted in a remarkable ongoing life adventure around the globe, only vouchsafed by a few.

Capturing a traditonal porridge dessert tranformed into pure excellence.

He lost his photographic virginity during the Venice Carnival and has dinned at all 3-starred Michelin restaurants in Europe. Most of them twice. He has snapped all from Ferran to Alain to Heston to René, and back to Ferran again.

He even shot the The Danish Royal Family in slow motion.

He has been a part of more than 25 book projects on gastronomy. Several of those as the publisher. In fact his silver-grey hair alone has experienced more than most other photographers’ entire body do in a life time.

And he looks like a rock star.

He is perhaps the most interesting food photographer in the world.
