Wine has been Marie von Ahm’s biggest passion and interest since she was only 15 years old. Already at an early age she decided to dedicate her life fully to it: She breathes, lives, loves and drink wine.
Marie von Ahm is the founder of VonAhm Ltd, a Luxembourg company that provides export advice to several of Europe’s top wine producers, some also marketed through her personally endorsed line of wines called VonAhm Selections.
Amongst many producers VonAhm Ltd part-own and oversees the global branding of the extremely exclusive Champagne Boërl & Kroff – in its category, the most expensive Champagne in the World, – building up the brand among luxury collectors and distributors in Asia, US and Scandinavia – taking on Europe, Russia and Dubai in 2013.
Marie Von Ahm was the first woman to become permanent member of Le Grand Jury Européen (GJE) and is now involved in many of the GJE’s activities including the World Wine Symposium.
She is amongst the only 8 Danes to hold the WSET Diploma and plans on starting her Master of Wine in 2014. The Master of Wine is seen as the ultimate distinction and title in the world of wine.
Marie von Ahm also serves as consultant for several importers and private collectors worldwide, sourcing wines and managing portfolios – also as advising specialist on the global wine trade for the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development).
She is an eager columnist – writing for the recognized James Suckling, who is regarded as one of the world’s most influential wine critics. She also contributes regularly to FINE Magazines; the world’s leading luxury wine magazines.
Marie von Ahm is portrayed in various international media and currently working on her first wine book on a new and systematic approach towards wine tasting. She conducts wine education, tastings, seminars and master classes.
